After a remarkable and historic Ligue 1 season, it’s awards time for the French top flight. French football expert Andrew Gibney, of the GibFootballShow and French Football Weekly, was the clear choice to dish out the awards. So without further adieu (see what I did there?), here they are:

Ligue 1 Review: Lille One Step Closer To Ligue 1 Championship
Another terrific performance from Gervinho and Moussa Sow led Lille to a 2-1 win over Brest on Saturday. Brest played well during the first half of this contest, and led for most of the half with Benoit Lesoimier’s goal in the 18th minute. Lille eventually wore down Brest and took over in the second half. The victory puts Lille four points clear of their next competitor and alone in first place.

Eden Hazard Lifts Lille To Victory
Eden Hazard scored in the 90th minute to lift Lille to a 2-1 win over Valenciennes. It was the second straight late game win for Lille and vaults them into first place all by themselves this week.
Lille Scores Biggest Victory Of The Year, Defeating Marseille 2-1
Pierre-Alain Frau scored for visiting Lille in the 90th minute to give them the crucial victory and first place in Ligue 1. The tightly played affair featured a goal by each side before the dramatic conclusion. Lille scored first with Eden Hazard putting it in the back of the net in the 10th minute. Marseille found the equalizer in the 60th minute on Loic Remy’s goal. The win puts Lille four points clear of Marseille, who slide into fourth with the loss.
